Magazine Tips

Magazines are great notification of specials/deals, etc. As magazines are very specific to the market that they target typically the information contained in them is going to be of interest to you.

Lots of magazines I get have started to add more coupons to the mix! This is an exciting trend! One magazine that is a quick read and always contains plenty of coupons is a new release called "All You", I think it retails for around $1.97 at the newsstand or subscribe for better savings.

Which brings me to my next point...magazines are placed at check-out for impulse buying. If you buy a specific issue more than 3 times in a year, consider the cost of the subscription....you can usually save a bundle!

Many magazines offer subsriber or gift subscription discounts. This month in Hallmark magazine, they featured a renew your subscription give 2 gift subscriptions for $14.95! I have the coupons if you want to take advantage of this offer I will mail them to you (I have 2 so don't delay). Also, if you subscribe to WonderTime magazine for parents of young kids, they had an offer for 4 gift subscriptions for $20! That is an amazing price, $5/subscription!

Think about magazines for special gifts, birthdays, etc! Magazines are fairly inexpensive for what you receive and your recipient will receive typically between 6-12 issues for a 1 year subscription and will think of you each time they receive it!

Happy reading!

Borders & Footloose Massage Center

Hello!

Borders- If you are a Borders Rewards member check your inbox for your 40% off coupon. These seem to come every 3 months or so. It is a good coupon because it usually can beat pricing from Amazon.com and you don't have to make a minimum purchase to get free shipping. If you aren't a Borders member, I encourage you to join. They have lots of perks including a new feature called the Borders Marketplace where they have joined with other companies to give you discounts. All in all, I have been happy with this program. Hint: go online and order your book for pick-up at the store (they pull the product for you and it is at the front desk). Just breeze in and pick it up with no hassles of trying to locate it!

Footloose Massage Center- Is offering a 15% massage service (your choice) for scheduling a 9 a.m. appt. Monday-Friday. This is only good for new customers, but pass the word if you know someone interested in checking them out! Watch the Register Guard for more specials/offers that apply to everyone. The specials change often.

March 30- Update

Bath and Body Works- True Blue Spa 2/$20. Products up to a $16 retail. Save up to $12. I purchased 2 bottles out "Look Ma New Hands", retail each of $14 (saved $8), plus I used a coupon for a free signature product with any purchase of $10 or more...total savings $20! Not bad and thank you to a friend (SH) who suggested this product in the first place. Oh my word...my hands have never been softer...this lotion comes highly recommended! Always, I repeat ALWAYS use coupons at Bath & Body Works...they give them out like crazy so use them to save extra and try to combine them with additional in store promotions for increased savings.

Black Butte Ranch- this great resort in Central Oregon is not requiring minimum stays during the summer as they have in the past so if you are thinking about a small jaunt this summer considering booking soon to take advantage of this lifted restriction. I love the ranch for the extra security and just the opportunity to relax and rewind.

Walgreen's- Check out this weeks flyer for all types of free products and coupons! April 2 ONLY- FREE Printer Cartridge Refill this day only. If you are low on ink or out, this is a great and free opportunity to try out this service. I never trusted it (maybe brand loyalty?). However, I have to say I have been refilling my cartridges there for about a year now and I haven't experienced any issues, it is a savings and good for the environment so check it out! Walgreen's will put out their April savings book this week with all kinds of extra coupons/rebates and free items. Free items include Wal-Zyr (allergy medicine), Colgate Toothbrush, Aquafresh Toothpaste and more! You do have to buy these items and send in the rebate to get them free, but hey it's free and some good deals. Hint: They give away free products every single month. If they aren't things you use, but others would (donate to a local social service agency...they would love it!).

March 29 Steals & Deals

Hello All-

Here is the latest and greatest in my search to bring you savings and steals from local and on-line retailers.

REI- Sign up for REI Gearmail from the website at www.rei.com and receive an email with a 15% coupon you can use in store or online! They have great products and this is an easy way to get some savings!

Macy's- It is Clinique Bonus time! I always take advantage of these gifts with purchase. Even if you are loyal to a specific line other than Clinique (and I am), I just buy lotion or something that is generic and reap the rewards of the bonus...which I always use for myself or save items I don't use for stocking stuffers or give the whole bonus to a friend! It comes with a floral cosmetic bag that is really pretty in pink or purple. The bonus period is from April 2 to April 19. Hint: If you will be at the mall previous to this time, you can presale and pick up your bonus at a later date...they will hold your product until pick up.

KidSports Coupon Books- remember if you are a current holder, coupons expire on April 30! Make sure you swap or use them prior to this date. Anyone out there selling some? I am looking to purchase from a player if possible...so email me!

Eugene Weekly is another source for coupons (and it is free!) and I am seeing more in there...this week features Bates Steakhouse & Saloon (down near the new Federal Courthouse). Free appetizer and Free Dessert with the purchase of 2 dinner entrees. You can pick up the EW at many locations around town in Eugene or select places in Springfield.

Nike Outlet- Woodburn is having an amazing clearance sale. If you happen to be in that area, all clearance items are an additional 30% off! They have a huge selection of clothes and shoes right now.

SweetWaters (Valley River Inn)- thanks to a friend said that in the Entree section of the Register Guard was a coupon for brunch. It has been running in the RG for the last couple of weeks and is good through April. Hint: use it for an early mother's day gift and avoid the mother's day crowd!

KMTR "Local For Less", visit www.kmtr.com and click on the Local For Less tab. They sell a variety of gift certificates from local merchants for 50% off! It is an excellent deal! This week, just added "Divinity" Spa in Springfield (near 58th & Main). A $25 gift certificate for $12.50. You can only use 1 per visit. However, still a great deal if you use these merchants or want to check something new out.

I will continue to post information as I find it! Happy Savings! Summer
